Wednesday: Once Upon a Halloween and Food & Farming Community Forum

A look at what's happening in and around Middletown today.

  1. The Middletown Library will host Once Upon a Halloween with Diane Edgecomb for children ages 5 and up at 3:30 p.m. The program will feature old and new Halloween stories and a bubbling cauldron. Pick up free tickets in the Children’s Department or reserve them by calling 846-1573.
  2. The will hold its annual Card Party today at 1:30 p.m. Seniors can reserve a table of two or four and bring friends and family to this “infamous” event. Cost is $6 per person, and wine, tea, coffee and desserts are included.
  3. The Middletown Planning Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. at Town Hall to discuss the proposed projects for submission with the town’s state Transportation Improvement Program and to ensure that the projects are consistent with the Middletown Comprehensive Community Plan.
  4. The Middletown Comprehensive Community Plan Update Committee will meet at 5 p.m. at Town Hall to discuss housing and an affordable housing action plan.
  5. Join the chief of agriculture for the RI DEM, owner of Aquidneck Honey, executive director of Aquidneck Land Trust, and an agricultural writer for the from 6 to 9 p.m. at CCRI. This event is free and open to the public.
