Where Can I Dispose Appliances and Electronics in Middletown?

You ask...Patch answers

On the Middletown Patch Facebook page, Renee Raether Ginn asked "Is there a place in Middletown to dispose of old electronics? I have a waffle iron I don't want to throw in the landfill."

We reached out to Middletown Recycling Coordinator Will Cronin for an answer:

Will: A waffle iron is a small kitchen appliance, and depending on its makeup I may be able to take it in our scrap metal bin behind the Department of Public Works garage at 19 Berkeley Ave.

Electronic waste (e-waste) is computers, laptops and their accessories (mice, keyboards, printers, scanners, etc), copy and fax machines, audio, video, photography and gaming equipment.

Patch: What about residents who have e-waste?

Will: Behind the Department of Public Works at 19 Berkeley Ave, I have containers for e-waste, a separate one for TV’s & computer monitors, one for over-sized broken down cardboard, a dumpster for scrap metal items (anything from wire coat hangers to boat trailers), a container for used motor oil and a container for waste vegetable cooking oil.

The hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
