Farmer’s Market to Table - A trip to the Aquidneck Grower’s Market with Chef Christy Erickson-Prior on Saturday morning and then in the kitchen on Sunday morning to prepare a gourmet feast

This class has 2 parts - Saturday, July 7th from 10 - 11am meet us at the Aquidneck Grower’s Market to learn how a professional Chef shop a farmer’s market.  Looking at everything there is to offer and then choosing the best and the finest ingredients to bring back to her kitchen to create a fresh, locally inspired farm to table meal, is what Chef Christy Erickson-Prior does. (Feel free to bring your own recyclable bags to shop the Farmer’s Market along with her!) We’ll choose farm fresh ingredients to bring back to the Newport Cooks! Kitchen on Sunday morning, July 8th from 9:30am - Noon, where we’ll gather for a fabulous Farm to Table creative cooking class.  After we shop on Saturday, Chef Christy will put together recipes for  a 3 - 4 course meal that everyone will learn how to make on Sunday morning in a lively hands-on cooking class.  We’ll all go home with great new ideas on how best to utilize the abundance of delicious local produce, herbs, breads & shellfish (and anything else that might show up that morning) found at our local farm stands and farmer’s markets.
