TechSavvy: Internet Security – What the average person should know and what to do about it

This presentation from Jairo Rugel of ATC-Tech and Newport County Computers covers dos and don’ts regarding internet security and how people can protect themselves. It is based on best practices and provides a common sense approach to being safe while surfing the internet.

Jairo, President and Senior Technology Consultant at ATC Tech Inc and Newport County Computers, and co-host and co-sponsor of these weekly TechSavvy events, was active duty in the Navy for 11 years as a sonar technician. After the Navy, he was the Tech Support Manager for Latin America Region at American Power Conversion (APC), then the Global Networking Instructor at Gtech Inc, and the Managing Consultant at All Bases (IT Consulting Firm) before starting his own business ten years ago. Jairo is an active member of the Newport County Chamber of Commerce whose key to business success is honesty, integrity, and the desire to do the right thing for the right reasons all of the time. He’s also a Board Member at Technology For Tomorrow.
