Viewfinder: Middletown Inducts Inaugural Hall of Fame Athletes

Neither rain nor lightning could dampen the spirits of those who attended the Middletown Athletic Hall of Fame events this weekend to celebrate the program's first five inductees.

The festivities leading up to the inaugural and Dinner began Friday, October 14, 2011 under the Friday night lights and buckets and buckets of rain during the vs. Rogers halftime show. 

Although the football game would be lost and the crowd would be drenched, nothing could dampen the spirits of the friends, families and neighbors of the five inductees.

"This is what it's all about," announced Middletown Athletic Director, Eric Godin. "It's the connection between the athletes of today and the athletes of yesterday.  We are where we are today because of them. This is a very special time."

On Saturday evening, the Middletown Athletic Hall of Fame Committee welcomed the inductees, their families and guests to a dinner and celebration and hours of reminiscing at the Wanumetonomy Golf & Country Club in Middletown.
