VIDEO: Gaudet Students Take the Higher Ground With Anti-Bullying Lessons

Through the Newport County YMCA ropes course, Gaudet Middle School students are learning important life lessons on self-esteem, teamwork and leadership to discourage bullying.

Since Tuesday, students from the have been up against the ropes as they go through the YMCA's anti-bullying program and challenge themselves on the high and low ropes, zip line, "leap of faith," and "the wall."

The high ropes and outdoor challenge courses are building self-confidence in the students and incorporating exercises on team-building, leadership, and communication skills into anti-bullying lessons this week, according to Athletic Director Brian Crea.

The Gaudet students wrap up their lessons on Friday.
