Known as "The Enforcer” out there on the ice, Thornton had left his skating personality in Boston and took the time to joke and chat with the fans of all ages who came to see the hockey star.
When asked how he spent his summer, the Canadian said he was proud that he received his Green Card. He also took a trip to Las Vegas for a bachelor party and spent a week in Bermuda to unwind before training camp starts again in one week.
“It’s been a short, busy summer,” said Thornton when asked how he manages the responsibilities between winning a Stanley Cup and resting up before the new season.
“It’s a balance. You have to learn to say 'no' sometimes and manage your time,” he said.
When asked what advice he could give to an aspiring athlete, Thornton said the most important part of life is to enjoy yourself.
“Have fun,” Thornton said.
