New Support Group For Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Caregivers

A newly formed support group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) caregivers of elders will begin on June 4 in Middletown.

Today, Child and Family Elder Services in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Association  announced the formation of a support group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) caregivers of elders. 

Child and Family's Elder Services is a program focused on improviing the quality of life for elders and their families. The group helps identify services that can assist elders maintain an independent lifestyle in their own home.

This newly formed group is a forum providing the opportunity for LGBT Caregivers of elders to enhance coping skills within a nurturing environment, develop informal supports and social relations and provide the opportunity to learn from others in similar caregiver roles.

The program will be facilitated by Janet Grapentine, RN and Rev. Amy Alletzhauser. 

The Group will start June 4th and will continue to meet on the first and third Tuesday of every month from 10:00-11:00am at n Middletown, RI.
