The Heart & Sole Walk raises funds to care for homeless pets in need throughout the year. Participants are encouraged to collect pledges and earn great prizes at the same time.

This year, adults who raise $125 and kids who raise $75 will receive a limited-edition Walk T-shirt and eco-friendly water bottle. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the shelter animals.

This year, the walk will feature a first-ever Cat Lovers Unite Walk Team, the Pussy Footers.

Teams from local schools, health clubs, small and large businesses are invited to form teams as an opportunity to build community and achieve special recognition for making a difference in the lives of homeless animals.

The Heart & Sole Walk is a huge event for animal lovers. People can participate with or without their dogs, walk in honor or memory of their cats or other favorite pet or form a “pack” with friends or family members.

Employees of businesses are encouraged to join together to participate. Registration is available online at www.PotterLeague.org by mail or in person at the Potter League.

Check-in starts at 10 a.m. and the walk begins at noon.

Morning festivities include a smart & fit pet challenge course, obedience training demonstrations and Q&A, a dog obstacle course, a children’s scavenger hunt and face painting, feline fur-tography contest and the infamous pet contests.

New this year will be the addition of a Healthy Pet Marketplace filled with pet care professionals to discuss acupuncture and massage therapy for pets, oral hygiene, veterinary care, pet nutrition, training, healthy pet treats, Canine Good Citizen certification and adoption information.

Information tables will be manned by the Potter League staff, volunteers, local veterinarians, specialists and sponsors.
