The worse experience I had ever had at a medical services facility was at Valley Road Primary Care Walk-In and they didn’t even treat me. The front man to this operation was annoyed that I interrupted his paper work by me seeking medical attention; there was one person in the waiting room. His first question was “what kind of insurance do you have”, and then onto the fact that they were all booked up for the day and I could maybe make an appointment but it would be tricky. I told him I wouldn’t have stopped in if the sign didn’t say “Primary Care Walk-In, silly me. The cranky man went on about some song and dance of how walk-in aren’t really accepted they mostly deal with established patients, I guess they just have the Walk-In on the sign for slow days. Next he gave me the third degree as to why I wasn’t seeing my primary physician and why I needed to bother them (like it’s any of his business so much for patient confidentiality). Finally the man at the helm directed me down the street to Newport County Medical. I did end up going to Newport County Medical and they were awesome!
Valley Road Primary Care here is a few tips……
- Put someone on the front line that actually can deal with people especially SICK people
- Take WALK-IN’s off your flipping sign if that isn’t what you do

Wow, I can not even begin to tell you how bad this place is but I am going to try. First off, the people who answer the phone and work at the front desk are completely unorganized and inefficient. Which, could actually be ok if they were even somewhat friendly and put in minimal effort to make it seem like they cared. One guy, Mike who answered the phone seemed pissed off that I even called even though I was the one in serious pain. He took down my name and number for a prescription refill and I never heard from anyone for over a week. I then called back on 4/15 in the am to see what was going on. They lady who answered this time said she had seen the notes from my last call but nobody acted on it (she never really gave me a reason why either) but said that she would pass it along to the doctor and he would do it that day. By 4 PM I was a little nervous that ANOTHER day would go by without the refill so I called back. A different lady answered and after telling her the scoop she said she had no record of the previous call and that I would have to come in to see the doctor. Needless to say I gave up, I am way too busy of a person with a full time job and family to have to take time out of my work day to go see a guy who already knows my current condition. All it would take is five minutes of his day to stop and handle my request. They just want you to come in and make money off of each visit otherwise they could care less about you or whatever ailment you may have.
