Building / Zoning Department oversees the town's construction code and zoning permits, and enforces the town's zoning ordinances. It also provides service to the taxpayer, while insuring the health and safety of the citizens of the town.

Engineering Department oversees the development of town infrastructure projects. It is responsible for providing construction, liaison, review and inspection on the projects throughout the town. Planning Department

Planning Department is responsible for facilitating orderly development in town, and is in charge of all aspects of municipal planning. Economic Development Advisory Committee

Economic Development Advisory Committee promotes and supports the town's existing businesses and tries to attract new businesses. It also develops a program to enhance business capacity of the Aquidneck Corporate Park, and to promote growth of the defense related industry on Aquidneck Island. Open Space & Fields Committee

Open Space & Fields Committee is responsible in advising the Town Council on issues related to acquisition, management, preservation, and improvement of town parks, open space and fields for the development of the quality of life of its citizens. Roads/Utilities Advisory Committee is headed by the director of public works, Thomas R. O'Loughlin, who can be reached at toloughlin@middletownri.com. It holds its public meeting on the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall based at 350 East Main Rd.

Parks & Recreation Department

Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for maintaining the town's parks and recreational facilities, and it also manages various recreation programs and events for adults, youth and even senior citizens of the town. Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction of town infrastructure. Human Resources Department

Human Resources Department handles recruitment, development, recognition and retention for various departments of the town, and also maintains and manages the workforce.
