I live by the ocean and I'm really annoyed by those crashing waves. I wish someone would doRead More something about them.

I love nature. I have personally been in nature, and understand, it is exhilarating. On a scale ofRead More one to ten it ranks up there close to the top, but the continuous buzzing of bees and humming of hummingbirds are at the bottom of the scale. Can we possibly move nature off Aquidneck Island so I can finally get some peace and quiet!!

I always give blood and sometimes platelets if Im a match for someone. The Red Cross is dear to myRead More heart as when my father died I was stationed overseas. The Army wasnt very helpful getting me home for the funeral but I approached the Red Cross and they made it happen. They are a good organization that helps a lot of people. Giving blood is quick, painless and saves lives, call your local Red Cross and see where the nearest blood donor clinic is, its the right thing to do!

I became a blood donor by accident. I was called for jury duty last year. As you know you have toRead More sit around and wait for your name to be called for a trial. While we were all waiting the jury attendant entered the room and announced that the mobile blood center just arrived. He said, " If you donate we will look very favorable upon you." I bolted out of my chair, ran down 4 flights of stairs , and got in line. My thinking was anything is better than sitting around another day waiting to be called for a trial. I was amazed at how fast and easy it was to donate blood. AND the jury attendant released me from jury duty for the next 3 years!! I've been donating blood every two months since that wonderful day I was released from jury duty...

So much for the millions spent on the Esplanade pipe and the ultraviolet light gadget to killRead More bacteria. Wasn't our Middletown overpaid Town Administrator recently bragging about these success stories.

Back when it was first proposed, I said these efforts would fail. People want to feel like they'reRead More doing something but they don't stop to consider that it could be the wrong thing. My proposal was to return one of the ponds to a tidal marsh. They could dredge the other pond deeper for the fill for the marsh.

Once again, no attempt to converse. Throwing insults is all you can muster? Do you know how toRead More think critically and thoughtfully? Oh, and Denmark has one of the highest standards of living in the world. At least you were thoughtful enough to recommend such a highly desirable, highly evolved location for me to reside. :)

A child's blow up swimming pool left on top of a patio table had 4.5 inches of rain water in itRead More Saturday morning in Bristol. Perhaps not a very scientific way of measuring total rainfall, but good enough to be in the ball park I imagine.

Thank you Charlene for posting, there are also higher instances of pets drowning during this weekendRead More as well. Between the heat, fireworks, toxic substance ingestion, and drowning, it is best to leave dogs in a safe area at home in the A/C preferably in a crate with access to a water bottle. Vermont Naturals makes a great product called "Calming Treats", it is available at PetLife. Also soft music or a TV running in the background can also ease anxiety. If you need additional help, please consult your veterinarian. I have never had luck with Thundershirts for our dogs in rescue, but the T-Touch wrap seems to work much better. You can Google for more information.
