On Saturday the All Saints Academy Robotics Team, the reigning State Champions, competed in the FIRST Lego League qualifier. This tournament was one of three Rhode Island qualifiers determining who will earn slots to participate in the State Championship on January 12th at Rogers Williams University. Once again, the seven member team from All Saints Academy won the Champions Award at this event held by RI First Lego League at St. Mary’s Bayview Academy. They competed against 19 teams. Two other teams from Aquidneck Island performed well. Gaudet Middle School advanced to the state final and St. Philomena's won the Research Project Award. Congratulations to the Al Saints Academy Pre-K class of 2012!
All Saints Academy recently graduated a record breaking Pre-K class of thirty-four students. Prior to their graduation ceremony, the class presented a very special musical review to a packed house of family, friends and staff. The students took a delighted audience on a musical tour through America's the last seventy years. Entitled, "As Time Goes By", the show began with a visit to the 1940s and songs like Anchor's Aweigh and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, toured the 50's, featured a pint-sized Beatles tribute band, rocked the house with Queen, thrilled the audience with Michael Jackson hits and ended with a twist on modern rap.
