Soldier From Middletown Pleads Guilty to Murder
The Fort Drum, NY soldier from Middletown pleaded guilty to slaying an infant he and his wife were planning to adopt.
Jeffrey Sliker of 112 West Lynde Street, Watertown, NY, pleaded guilty Tuesday to slaying the 4-month-old baby girl he and his wife had planned to adopt, the AP reports. The official cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma. Sliker allegedly hit the baby's head against a hard surface repeatedly. Sliker was reportedly wounded in Afghanistan in 2009 by an improvised explosives device (IED) and later received a Purple Heart and other commendations for his service.

Went to school with this guy...always seemed a bit strange, a type of person who would you would think would do well in the military and that life style, but I never saw this coming...hopefully there is justice but also rehabillation at the same time... more ›
