12/21/12: ‘Mayan Doomsday’ Draws to End Without Incident

It ended up being much ado about nothing, and the ones most likely to benefit? The Mayans — well-played, Mayans. Well-played.

December 21, 2012 is over and if you’re reading this, you already are aware the world has not ended. Certainly it’s chilly outside, we survived Friday's rain, there’s still Christmas shopping and wrapping to be done. If this were a movie, we could call it Apocalypse How? But with all this hubbub over the Mayan 2012 prophecy, we have to ask: How would you spend your last day in Middletown, if you knew the world was coming to an end? Before you answer, we'd like you to pretend that depsite the looming apocalypse, all of Middletown restaurants and hot spots remained open for business and the roads out of town were blocked off. Would you stay at home with your family? Would you head out one last time to order your favorite meal at a local restaurant?  Would you catch the last performance of your favorite local band? If you are looking for something to do in Middletown, Easton's Point Pub is holding an end of the world party with live music, free …
