We reached out to Middletown Recycling Coordinator Will Cronin for an answer: Will: A waffle iron is a small kitchen appliance, and depending on its makeup I may be able to take it in our scrap metal bin behind the Department of Public Works garage at 19 Berkeley Ave. Electronic waste (e-waste) is computers, laptops and their accessories (mice, keyboards, printers, scanners, etc), copy and fax machines, audio, video, photography and gaming equipment. A snow-parking ban that went into effect at 6 a.m. in Middletown will remain in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday. According to a post on the town's website, vehicles parked on the street in violation of the snow ban may be ticketed and towed to allow the passage of town plow trucks and emergency vehicles. The parking ban is in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday to allow for the removal of accumulated snow. In addition, at the request of the Middletown Public Works Department, residents are reminded not to deposit snow into any state or town road because it contributes to hazardous driving conditions. The reconstruction of roadways, sewer lines and stormwater drains was approved by voters in November 2010 through a $2 million bond referendum.
Middletown’s two-year project that voters approved in November to reconstruct aging roads and stormwater drains on Valley Road and within the Continental Village neighborhood is getting underway this week. Residents and business owners along Valley Road between Griffin Road and Goldenrod Drive can expect to see the first major phase of road repairs and stormwater drains to begin immediately. Earlier this week, work crews began making preliminary cuts into the asphalt on Valley Road before beginning the more extensive roadwork and excavation, according to Town Engineer Warren Hall. The project will progress along Valley Road at a rate of about 80 feet per day, Hall said. The work is part of a $2 million bond approved by voters in November …
