Joan Francis, 44, of 7 Ludlow Road was arrested on Monday around 1:30 a.m. on charges of disorderly conduct, simple assault and resisting arrest. Police said they responded to Brewski’s Pub for a report of a fight between two women. When they arrived, Francis was allegedly screaming and appeared intoxicated. She allegedly resisted being placed in handcuffs and wouldn’t go into the police cruiser. Michelle Dupree, 52, of no permanent address was arrested on Thursday around 6:15 a.m. on a willful trespass charge. Police said they were dispatched to 54 Oliphant Lane, which is part of the Rhode Island Nurseries. Police said she had a small dog which was transported to the Potter League for animals. Two men and a woman were arrested after a pre-dawn fight in the parking lot of Ma's Donuts Wednesday, resulting in a broken front door at the popular eatery. Police arrived at Ma's Donuts, 78 West Main Road, at 1:22 a.m. for a report of a fight outside the restaurant. Four individuals were standing outside Ma's Donuts when police arrived. The group was arguing and "causing a disruption to the business which was still open," according to police reports. One of the men, Thomas H. Matthews, 44, of 22 Connecticut Ave., Middletown, appeared to be intoxicated, police said. Officers also saw a large, spider-web crack on the front door of Ma's Donuts. A Middletown man was arrested on Tuesday at 5:52 p.m. after allegedly becoming involved in an argument with a 26-year-old Coventry woman. Colin Gregoire, age unknown, of 182 Newport Ave., apparently became involved in an argument with the woman at his home. During the argument, Gregoire allegedly threw the woman on the bed, held her down and refused to let her leave, according to police reports. The victim apparently got free and attempted to call 911. Gregoire allegedly grabbed her phone and threw it down. She eventually was able to leave the apartment, run a neighbor's house and call police. Gregoire was charged with domestic, simple assault, and refusal to relinquish the telephone.

Jennifer O’Hanley, 37, of 14 Gilroy St., Newport, was arrested on Saturday by Middletown police on charges of driving under the influence, simple assault, and resisting arrest. She was also cited with refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police were called to 2 Plymouth Ave. around 6:09 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance. She allegedly told police she came to get her husband to go to their child’s birthday party, but he refused as they were going through a divorce. O’Hanley appeared to be intoxicated, said police. Police asked O’Hanley to wait by her car, but she started the car and drove it up Plymouth Avenue, side-swiping her husband’s truck. A traffic stop Friday night that resulted in a disorderly conduct charge, only escalated once they got back to the station, according to Middletown police. Once stopped, Dennis Perry, 38, of 40B Fagan Court, Peacedale, was asked to exit his car because police said it smelled of marijuna. “Marijuana is legal now, why you being aggressive, this is cause I’m black,” Perry allegedly said to police. Police said as they conducted the search, Perry was swearing and accusing the officer of racism. A Newport man was charged with his third driving under the influence (DUI) offense, a felony, Wednesday as he attempted to visit his dead brother in the cemetery, according to police reports. Timothy Keith Marks, 38, of 15 Meeting St., was arrested at 2:45 a.m. after a vehicle, operated by Marks, pulled into the cemetery at Newport Memorial Park. A police officer first spotted the red Chevrolet S10, operated by Marks, traveling north on Vaucluse Avenue. A check of the vehicle's registration did not match the vehicle's description. Williams allegedly got into an argument with his 28-year-old girlfriend after they left Brewskis. Police said the girl had a minor injury to her lip and a witness said Williams struck the woman.
