MPD Make One DUI Arrest on New Year's Eve

The following arrest was reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Middletown Police arrested one motorist on New Year's Eve on drunken-driving charges. Police pulled over 38-year-old Osvaldo Powell, of 4 Center St., Bristol, for speeding and swerving on West Main Road. Osvaldo told police he was on his way home to Bristol from Newport, where he had a couple of drinks. He failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested.  He was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test, speeding and a laned roadway violation.   Make sure you are signed up for the Middletown Patch newsletters to stay on top of local news.
