The Newport Restoration Foundation offers the public education program on the fourth Wednesday each month through October.
Windmill Wednesday returns to Prescott Farm this evening, part of the Newport Restoration Foundation (NRF)’s monthly program to enable visitors to put their "hands on history.” The NRF holds the programs at Prescott Farm every fourth Wednesday through October. “This is the second year we have done the Windmill Wednesday program. The idea is that we are making the Prescott windmill accessible to the public,” said Liz Spode, Education and Public Programs Assistant for the Newport Restoration Foundation. “We want people to know that this is a public historic site and is open to all ages,” she said. “People can come here and see vestiges of rural life on Aquidneck Island. Felines, cats, kittens. No matter how you say it, the animal of the month at the Potter League for Animals is definitely the cat. Despite having adopted out 46 cats in the month of August, there are still 118 cats in the care of the shelter. They have even had to open more rooms to house the cats and display them to the public. If you’re thinking of adding a kitty to your home, now is a great time to visit the Potter League and see the wide variety of cats and kittens they have available for adoption.
