Trash Pick-up Delayed by Storm

This week, there will be a one-day delay in trash and recycling pickup for Middletown residents.

This week's trash and recycling (gray trash bins plus green recycling bins) will be delayed one day due to the storm, according to the town’s recycling coordinator, Will Cronin. In addition, last Friday’s trash and recycling (blue bin) pick-up will be serviced this Monday, Jan. 23, a two-day delay. The Friday route was initially delayed one day because of last week’s Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and was rescheduled to yesterday (Saturday, Jan. 21). However, the snowstorm delayed it one more day, until Monday. Please contact the recycling coordinator with any questions: 401-842-6519,  wcronin@middletownri.com. Information about the trash and recycling program, visit the Refuse Collection Department page of the town website.

Parking Ban in Effect

The effect is in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday.

A snow-parking ban that went into effect at 6 a.m. in Middletown will remain in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday. According to a post on the town's website, vehicles parked on the street in violation of the snow ban may be ticketed and towed to allow the passage of town plow trucks and emergency vehicles.  The parking ban is in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday to allow for the removal of accumulated snow.      In addition, at the request of the Middletown Public Works Department, residents are reminded not to deposit snow into any state or town road because it contributes to hazardous driving conditions.     Any questions can be directed to Lt. Robert S. Nutt of the Administrative Services Division at rnutt@middletownri.com or at the telephone number…
