Storm Drain Pollution Prevention Reaches Out to Residents

At the public meeting Monday, Sept. 27, the town reached out to residents for help in reducing pollution that enters storm drains. Also, a major storm drain relocation project was discussed briefly.

The town has several measures underway to curb stormwater pollution in Easton's Bay that includes the very early phases for a proposal to re-route a new major stormwater drain with state-of-the-art technology, scrubbing streets surfaces as well as the insides of storm drains, and working with the public to help reduce stormwater pollution starting at home. The latter undertaking was the focus of a public outreach workshop for stormwater education and awareness Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 at Town Hall. The meeting was open to all Middletown residents.
