Middletown Police Log: 5 Arrested Over Weekend on Drugs and Drunk Driving Charges

The following information is based on Middletown Police Department arrest reports and do not indicate any convictions.

The Middletown Police Department reported the following arrests from the weekend of Saturday, Oct. 15 to early Monday, Oct. 17: Felony Drug Possession Cameron Michael Taylor, 20, of 25 Dexter St., Portsmouth, was arrested around 1:15 a.m. early Sunday morning on a felony charge of possessing a controlled drug substance and a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession. According to the arrest report, police stopped his car on West Main Road near Prescott Farm after clocking it at speeds of 51 to 60 mph in a posted 35 mph zone. During questioning the police officer detected the slight odor of marijuana. During a pat down, Taylor allegedly told the police officer he had drugs and marijuana in his pockets. Middletown Police Log: Four Arrests Reported from Holiday Weekend

The following information is based on Middletown Police Department records and does not indicate any convictions.

The Middletown Police Department reported the following recent arrests: Marijuana Possession, Underage Possession of Alcohol Johanally Matta, 19, of 237 Park Holm, Newport, was arrested around 9:10 p.m. Saturday evening on a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession and underage possession of alcohol. According to the arrest report, police stopped the car she was driving near the intersection of Beacon and Peace streets for not having a visible registration plate. As the police officer approached the car, he was able to see a temporary registration in the rear window. Middletown Police Log: Two Arrested Over Weekend on Drunk Driving Charges

The following information is based on Middletown Police Department arrest reports and do not indicate any convictions.

The Middletown Police Department reported two arrests from the weekend of Oct.1-2, 2011. Hit-and-Run, Driving Under the Influence (DUI) of Alcohol Jeffrey F. Cornell, 33, of 51 Flint Corn Road, Portsmouth, was arrested around 1 a.m. Sunday morning on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, a first offense and for failing to stop after a car accident. According to the arrest report, police responded to the 600 Block of West Main Road for a minor car accident reported and upon arrival learned that the driver of the 2007 Chevy pickup truck involved in the accident allegedly fled the scene. Middletown Police Log: Warwick Man Charged With DUI

The following information is based on Middletown Police Department records and does not indicate any convictions.

The Middletown Police Department reported the following arrest: Daniel Paul Damico, 26, of 14 Fir Glade Drive, Warwick, was arrested around 2:54 a.m. Sunday on a misdemeanor charge for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, a first offense. According to the arrest report, police stopped the car he was driving on Green End Avenue near the intersection of Valley Road after observing the car cross over the double yellow line on Valley Road. During questioning, police detected the smell of alcohol and observed bloodshot eyes. He was arrested after a field sobriety test was conducted at the scene. Damico was also later cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test to measure his blood-alcohol concentration (BAC).

Middletown Police Log: Embezzlement, Drunk Driving and Eluding Police Charges Among Weekend Arrests

The following information is based on Middletown Police Department arrest reports and do not indicate any convictions.

The Middletown Police Department reported the following weekend arrests: Felony Embezzlement Joshua Pine, 31, of 130 Newport Ave., Middletown, was arrested around 1:32 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Home Depot on West Main Road on a felony charge of embezzlement of more than $100. According to the arrest report, investigators were called to the store after the company’s loss prevention officer detained Pine after catching him allegedly steal money from the cash register on surveillance videotape. The in-store security team told police that an estimated $500 had been taken from cash registers over the last three weeks. Police investigators who questioned Pine reported that he confessed to the allegations and handed over $170 from his pocket…

Middletown Police Log: Domestic Assault, Marijuana Charges Reported

The following information is based on Middletown Police Department arrest reports and does not indicate any convictions.

The Middletown Police Department reported the following weekend arrests: Marijuana Possession Brian Stephen Couto, 32, of 155 Winston St., New Bedford, MA, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of first offense marijuana possession around 1:54 a.m. Monday morning. According to the arrest report, police stopped the car Couto was driving for allegedly speeding on West Main Road at 52 mph in a posted 35 mph zone. During questioning, the police officer allegedly detected the odor of marijuana and observed broken up bits of marijuana on Couto’s lap. Couto then allegedly handed over to police a glass jar with marijuana inside. Police later also seized a glass pipe and silver tin with marijuana in both. Police also cited Couto for speeding. …

Middletown Police Log: Car Stops Bring Two Weekend Arrests

The Middletown Police Department reported the following incidents. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

The Middletown Police Department reported the following weekend arrests: Marijuana Michelle Sando, 21, of 24 Ellen Lane, Tiverton, was arrested around 4:07 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, and was charged with a misdemeanor first offense of marijuana possession. According to the Middletown Police Department report, a police officer questioned the driver after observing the car traveling at a high rate of speed on a nearly flat tire before pulling into the East Main Road Shell gas station, and then observing the passengers make furtive movements inside the car when they saw police. The officer detected the odor or marijuana inside the car during questioning. When asked if there was marijuana inside the car, Sando, a passenger, turned over her purse…

Middletown Police Log: Holiday Weekend Brings 18 Arrests and Citations

Disorderly Conduct The Middletown Police Department arrested two local men around 8 p.m. Monday night, each on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge. According to the arrest report, Thomas O’Hanley, 31, of 182 Rogers Lane, Middletown and Duane R. Cook, 33, of 166 Rogers Lane, Middletown, fought after O’Hanley called the other a derogatory name. The incident arose when O’Hanley was watching his children play outside and a woman yelled at him for not keeping them off the road. When he yelled back at the woman, Crook began yelling at O’Hanley before their argument escalated into a physical fight, police reported. Drunk Driving Deanna M. Couple Arrested After Woman's SUV Runs Over Boyfriend

A Massachusetts couple was arrested Saturday night after the woman's SUV allegedly ran over her boyfriend after he chased the vehicle and fell under it, according to Middletown Police Department arrest reports. Amanda E. Marguerite, 29, of 14 Sanford St., Apt. 40, Medway, Mass., was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Saturday night near the 600 Block of Aquidneck Avenue on a first offense felony charge of driving while intoxicated with serious bodily injury resulting. Thomas W. Morse, 29, of same address, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct following the incident, which began when the two were arguing while driving back home from Narragansett, according to police reports.
