Award-winning journalist Amy E. Karlson has spent 20 years in the publishing industry. She is the former editor of <i>East Bay Living</i> magazine, and was the <i>Life</i> editor of East Bay Newpapers. Prior to that, she was executive editor of <i>Power & Motoryacht</i> magazine, was the founding editor of <i>Boating for Women,</i> and also worked for <i>Newport Life</i>, <i>Vegetarian Times</i> and <i>Fine Gardening</i> magazines. Her writing has also appeared in <i>Shape</i>, <i>Natural</i> <i>Health</i>, <i>The Robb Report</i>, <i>Offshore</i> and other publications.
A graduate of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, Amy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology. She currently lives in Barrington, Rhode Island, with her husband, Eric, and 5-year-old daughter, Katie.
