Because Portsmouth is passing this over to their legal team and politicians. the only ones that get rich are the lawyers and the politicians can give the impression that they are doing something but this is already a done deal. To make matters worse the TC and town Admin is over in England now doing PR trip. Not sure how this all fits together except one big cluster f%^&.

That's a shame if it is the 375 fund because it clearly does not state that these funds would be used for this type of a trip. If it had I might have contributed less. I find this trip does not warrant any benefit to the town except for personal trips by these selected few. This begs the questions - is the 375 fund all about this trip. Not much is in the works for the town as a whole to participate, it seems like a stereotypical click.

ReplyAs a taxpayer and contributor to the 375 fund, whom are the private donor(s)? I hope that it is not the 375 fund. I also find this trip nothing more than a waste of money and the funds could have been put to better use on the Island. Support local business...please.

OldTownie - you must be an Old Townie and having a hard time reading because it states that private funds were the revenue to expense their trip. I'd like to know by whom are the private funds from? This should be disclosed.

ReplyThe only people that are getting rich by doing this are the lawyers the town hires. The TC admin and other TC members are currently in England while this is all happening. Whom is paying for their visit to England? Was it part of my donation to the 375 club?

ReplyI love this!!! Great job all in a useless effort and especially to the Town Council - how much is this costing Portsmouth, is there a lawyer just for the toll lawsuite? Even the other towns gave this up.

So the town lawyer met with the judge today and the outcome was that the toll wouldn't start until July. Great deal :). That's like saying the operation was a success but the patient died. Except the patient still paid the dr for services. The lawyer got rich. The state gets rich. The bridge gets maintained. Everyone wins? Only in America.
