Graduate of Newport's school system in 1946. U. S. Army service including the Korean "Police Action." Went to Boston University's School pf Management with a Bachelor of Science degree. First job was at Filene's Specialty Store in Boston, followed by Office Manager of Lappen Auto Supply. In 1964, relocated to Antigua, The West Indies, to work as General Manager of Windward and Leeward Agency (Import/Export). While there, Managed a "Son et Lumiere" (Sound and Light) show which hosted a performance for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (and husband, Prince Philip) in February 1966. My next employment took me to The Virgin Islands of St. Thomas and St. Croix. In 1981, returned to Rhode Island where I eventually became a Purchasing Agent for the University of Rhode Island. Upon retirement after 12 1/2 years, I volunteered at Child and Family ("Volunteer of the Year" in 2014), worked as "Foster Grandparent," served six years as a Trustee of the Middletown Public Library, co-founded "Shakespeare Enthusiasts," am a parishioner at St. Paul's United Methodist Church (Trustee) and, also, currently serving on "The Newport Middle Passage and Port Marker Project Committee and Sankofa.
