Man Allegedly Shattered Burger King Door, Cited Poor Customer Service

Matthew McColgan, 30, of 39 Oak St., was arrested Monday around 1:48 a.m. after he allegedly smashed a window at Burger King. Based on the description provided by employees, police identified McColgan from previous arrests and called him down to the police station.

McColgan allegedly told police he went to Burger King after work but they were “extremely slow” and he was tired and hungry. He allegedly told police “they were all [expletive] slow and I could roll six blunts and smoke them faster than they could make food." He also complained staff removed his keys that he left on the counter, said police.  On his way out, he allegedly kicked the bottom pane of glass on the door, which shattered the window.

Jose Gomez, 34 of 16 Brimley St. Apt. 1, Newport, was arrested Monday around 1:07 a.m. on charges of domestic simple assault and domestic vandalism.  He allegedly shoved a 39-year-old Middletown woman into a wall.
