Project HEAL: Help to Eat, Accept and Live (www.theprojectheal.org) is a 501(c)(3) international not-for-profit organization that raises scholarship funds for treatment for those struggling with eating disorders. Project HEAL also raises awareness of the dangers of eating disorders, promotes healthy body image and self esteem, and inspires current sufferers to believe that full recovery from an eating disorder is possible. The founders of Project HEAL, Kristina Saffran and Liana Rosenman, met while undergoing treatment for anorexia nervosa when they were fifteen years old. The girls helped each other to reach full recovery, and then wanted to help others achieve it as well. The Rhode Island chapter of Project HEAL was founded in 2014 by Nicole Francis. This chapter aims to raise funds to help those struggling with eating disorders to receive treatment, as well as to raise awareness about eating disorders and help those struggling with disordered eating to find resources within the state.
